WEEK 15 BEER OF THE WEEK:
By Mike Abrachinsky
Tailgate Beer Meister
Fellow "Gaters!"
Its mid-December and it is absolutely freezing here in the great northeast Pa.! You've made or advanced in your fantasy playoffs because of Chris Johnson, Brandon Marshall, or Andre Johnson…or totally pooped the bed because you probably listened to the Sportsline geniuses.
Regardless, the beer I am about to bring to you will ring you into the Christmas season with tons of cheer. Yes gaters, Stegmaier Holiday Warmer from the Lion Brewery of Wilkes-Barre Pa is a "Must Have". I picked up a case based on a recommendation from a friend and co-worker from "Nanty-coke" Pa. Warmer is a sweet, dark, and strong holiday ale that is aggressively laden with hops. Warmer is perfectly balanced and contains a delicious malt complexity. Through all this, the "Warmth" comes from the high alcohol level of this old time recipe. Warmer is actually dry-hopped during fermentation which allows for the "hoppy-Christmas" feel. All this, and only 20 clams ! You cant beat it for a coal region beer ! So grab some and have a Merry Christmas to all Gaters out there !

The 3 keys to good tailgating recipes:
1- Most or all of the prep work can be performed at home before the tailgating event. You don’t want to spend your whole day prepping food when you should be having fun.
2- Variety-Variety-Variety. Be creative. There are tons of different things you can have at your tailgate party.
3- Your Tailgating recipes have other tailgaters envious. They will enjoy their burgers and dogs, but you’ll notice when they are eye-balling your kabobs.
